A stroll through Chandni Chowk

It has been more than 3 years that I have been to Chandni Chowk and I thought: Why not give it a shot again? Literally.

Chandni Chowk is one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi and one of India's largest whole sale markets. The colors, the noise, the food is phenomenal. The pictures here can only capture a small portion of it. You have to be there yourself.

While walking through the narrow lanes I noticed the natural air conditioning system. It's much cooler than on the big streets as the sun does not get in there much. Rickshaws and bikes however are omnipresent.

Right next to Chandni Chowk is the 'World-reflecting Mosque', Jama Masjid. I reached there just before sunset and was lucky getting on top of the minaret as the last person that day. I climbed the 130 steps of the 41m high tower and was awarded with a great view over Old Delhi in the warm light of the setting sun.

Cheers, Frank
